Though the company was only originally in operation for 21 years, Brough Superior is nonetheless recognized as one of the most iconic and celebrated motorcycle companies ever, and since the revival of the British marque in 2016, Brough has been releasing a modern version of its mighty SS100 V-Twin, along with even more elite, limited edition model variants, the latest of which honors the most famous Brough rider and collector in history, Thomas Edward Lawrence, aka “Lawrence of Arabia.”
Christened the 2021 Lawrence Special Edition, this limited edition Brough boasts a novel (17L) tank and two-up-friendly tail design that draw visual inspiration from the curving Bedouins daggers that the army-officer, author, and archeologist famously wore on his belt — the former of which is crafted from carbon fiber while the latter rests atop a titanium subframe. Built around a machined titanium main chassis, the Lawrence Special Edition is powered by a proprietary liquid-cooled 997cc 88° V-Twin generating 102hp and 64ft-lbs of torque and is paired with top-of-the-line running gear such as machined aluminum seven-arm wheels, Berringer brakes, a custom Fior-style front-end, a projector LED headlight, and dual under-tail pipes. Pricing has yet to be revealed, though production will be limited to only 188 units — a nod to 1888, the year of T.E. Lawrence’s birth.
