Most ultra-high-performance supercars boast aggressive and idiosyncratic appearances with minuscule ride heights and advanced aero setups. For those interested in cars with world-class performance and a more understated outward appearance, outfits like BRABUS offer just the right style of vehicles, bestowing existing luxury models with upgraded interiors and cutting-edge performance capabilities.
The latest car to be reworked by the German tuning firm is the 2021 Mercedes-AMG E63 S. At the heart of the BRABUS E63 is a 4.0L V8 that’s been gifted a pair of new, specially-configured high-performance turbochargers, a revised ECU, a nine-speed automatic transmission that run through via aluminum paddle shifters, and a stainless-steel, valve-controlled BRABUS high-performance exhaust system with carbon tailpipes that collectively allow for a (restricted) 186.4mph top speed and a 0-60mph time of just under three seconds. The changes also take the AMG’s power output from 603hp 627ft-lbs of torque up to 737.5ft-lbs and 800hp — with the latter metric giving the model its name, the “BRABUS 800.” On top of a reworked interior, the BRABUS 800 also features forged 21″ ten-spoke BRABUS Monoblock “PLATINUM EDITION” Z wheels, and a full carbon body kit with a custom spoiler lip, a set of refined BRABUS air inlets, and a BRABUS rear spoiler and diffuser.
