Each year, AC Schnitzer puts its aftermarket expertise to the test as part of the annual ‘Tune it! Safe!’ initiative organized by the Association of German Automobile Tuners. Because although we enjoy relatively lax modification laws here in the states, other parts of the world aren’t so lucky.
For its latest campaign custom, AC Schnitzer has given a 2020 BMW M850i an eye-catching police-themed makeover. And while it’s all business on the outside, dig a little deeper and you’ll find that it hides a number of hot performance upgrades. For instance, under the hood, its 4.4L twin-turbo V8 has been boosted by 90hp and 66lb-ft of torque from stock, so it now produces 620hp and 619lb-ft of torque. And to complement the increase in power, AC Schnitzer has also lowered its police cruiser concept by some 20-30mm at the front and 20-25mm at the rear, giving it improved handling and a more aggressive stance. Add to that a set of sports exhaust with Carbon Sport tailpipes, as well as a set of weight-optimized AC Schnitzer AC3 Flowforming rims, and the result is an M850i that’s ready and waiting to put speeders in their place.
