Since its triumphant reintroduction in 2005, Bentley’s Flying Spur has been lovingly referred to as “the world’s best luxury grand tourer,” with the British-built four-door offering a unique blend of ultra-high-performance driving capabilities matched by equally world-class comfort and amenities. Looking to continue its domination in the luxury GT market, Bentley recently turned to its customers for feedback, holding two massive customer clinics in the US and China to help deliver the ultimate Flying Spur for 2021.
This ultimately resulted in Bentley opting to deliver yet another V8-powered version of the car, replacing the existing W12 configuration. The turbocharged 4.0L eight-banger now generates 542hp and 568ft-lbs of torque at below 2,000 RPM—a 42hp bump over the previous-gen of the V8 Flying Spur. Because the new V8 model is 220lbs lighter than the W12, it offers markedly better handling characteristics, as well as a longer range in between fuel-ups. Produced at Bentley’s Crewe factory, which is the first carbon-neutral luxury car manufacturing facility, the 2021 Flying Spur is bestowed with the same uncompromising level of luxury that the brand built its name upon. Starting from approximately $200,725, the 2021 Bentley Flying Spur V8 is scheduled to begin deliveries in late 2020.
