Though it’s somewhat of a departure from the elite British automaker’s usual fare, Bentley’s Bentayga Luxury SUV has been an enormous success for the brand, with approximately 20,000 examples produced since the model’s release in 2016 — a significant number in this elite space — and the SUV now representing nearly half of all of Bentley’s sales. Capitalizing on the Bentayga’s immense success, Bentley has now introduced a thoroughly revised version of the turbocharged SUV for 2021.
The outside of the latest Bentayga has been updated and given a slightly sleeker aesthetic, while the inside gains increased leg-room, an all-new seat arrangement, an updated 10.9” infotainment display (compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), and Bentley’s first-ever dark tint diamond-brushed aluminum finish trim. Thus far, Bentley has only released a V8-engined version of the new Bentayga which is twin-turbocharged and puts down 542hp and 568ft-lbs of torque, enabling the 5,326lb SUV to achieve a sub-4.5-second 0-60mph time. Bentley also says it will follow the eight-cylinder model with a V6 hybrid version, as well as “performance-oriented speed models” later down the line. Pricing has yet to be announced, though the 2021 Bentley Bentayga is slated for an official release in Q1 of 2021.
