Bentley Updates The Bentayga Hybrid SUV With Sleeker Styling & An All-New Interior

Late last autumn, Bentley announced an aggressive electrification plan promising full battery dependency by the end of the decade. Phase one involved increasing the adoption of electric vehicles — a process that would begin with adding hybrid alternatives to the brand’s existing petrol-powered lineup.

With the Bentayga Hybrid returning for 2021, Bentley reaffirms its commitment to its eco-friendly ambitions. Under the hood, it’s powered by the same plug-in hybrid electric powertrain as its 2020 predecessor. Comprised of a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine and a 94kW electric motor, it’s good for 443hp and 516lb-ft of torque at peak output. Sure, it’s hardly the performance of the V8, but consider that it boasts a combined range of 536 miles and an electric-only range of 31 miles. Outside, you’ll find that Bentley has given the 2021 model refreshed styling consistent with the rest of the range, including sleeker lines and minimal badging. And when it comes to the interior, the Hybrid makes for the most technologically advanced Bentayga to date. With an all-new 10.9-inch infotainment unit, energy flow meter monitoring, and a host of Hybrid drive modes, Bentley may be a 100-year-old luxury brand, but it’s paving the way with its 21st-century tech. It’ll be available for $183,225 come mid-2021.
