If you were already a fan of Audi’s performance-focused R8 flagship, it’s likely that you’re privy to the recent release of the brand’s bespoke, rear-wheel-drive variant within the US market. However, if you decided to spend your hard-earned cash on the initial introduction of the car, you’d better prepare yourself — the German outfit has just announced a special, limited-to-30 edition of the car, known as the “Panther.”
The upper-echelon Panther Edition is essentially a cosmetic upgrade to the already-established vehicle, decorating the manufacturer’s 2021 platforms in a supremely-rare shade of Panther Black crystal. Contrasting attributes, including Crimson Red Nappa leather upholstery, accents, and edges, provide the perfect amount of poppiness to the vehicle’s shadowy demeanor, pairing seamlessly with its race-inspired shell seats, newly-introduced sports exhaust, and charred badging. Inside, the vehicle’s seductive, 532-horsepower 5.2-liter FSI V10 engine is drowned out by the addition of an Audi virtual cockpit and 13-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. All of these unique upgrades come at a price, however. You can expect to pay around $40,000 more than the car’s stock RWD option, clocking in at an astonishing $183,300 overall.
