Audemars Piguet Gets Intrepid With An Updated Royal Oak Offshore Diver Watch

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak is one of the most iconic watches ever made, so it’s no wonder that variations of the model dominate AP’s current roster. One particularly fun version is the Royal Oak Offshore Diver, which is now sportier than ever thanks to a new update.

The new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver offers a number of major updates to the line, starting with a new movement. The diver now houses the beautifully-finished Calibre 4308, which is visible through the sapphire caseback behind a blackened pink gold rotor. Not bad for what’s technically a tool watch, but hey, it is still a Royal Oak. The dial is also new, with stubbier pink gold applied indices and a less-formal “AP” logo replacing the full text on the old version. The dual crowns remain in ceramic, with one controlling the time and the other rotating the inner dive bezel. Rounding out the updates is an unexpected new quick-change strap system that allows the Offshore Diver’s rubber strap to be swapped out without the use of tools. Available in three new colors, the Royal Oak Offshore Diver is on sale now from Audemars Piguet for around $24,800.
