When it comes to classic 4x4s, there are only a handful of names that come to mind, most of which are made by European manufacturers. But there’s one Japanese vehicle that’s always been right there among the greats. We’re talking, of course, about the Toyota Land Cruiser, which is celebrating its 60-year anniversary with the Heritage Edition you see before you.
Six decades is a long lifespan for a vehicle, and the Land Cruiser has weathered it beautifully. But this special edition really elevates things, with its choice of either a Midnight Black Metallic or Blizzard Pearl exterior, a black-accented grille, bronze BBS forged aluminum wheels, vintage badging, and darkened accents all-around. Of course, in spite of the luxury styling, this is still an off-roading beast, thanks to its 381-horsepower 5.7-liter DOHC V8 engine — which also produces 401 foot-pounds of torque. It’s also available with a full-spread of upgrades, both inside and out, making this 1,200-unit limited edition vehicle all the more enticing. Pricing has yet to be unveiled.
