Shelby America Just Released An 800HP Upgrade Package For The 2020 GT500

If you bought a 2020 Shelby GT500 and feel like you might not be satisfied with its on-road performance, there are a handful of ways that you can bolster its power output for a more adrenaline-inducing experience. While many of these aftermarket modifications can be purchased through third-party companies, there’s nothing better than picking up an elaborate enhancement suite from the very company that birthed the vehicle — and now, that’s been made possible by Shelby America.

Suspecting that the vehicle’s fans would want a legitimate, hassle-free way to upgrade their 2020 Shelby GT500 post-purchase, the brand has announced that it will provide a bespoke, limited-edition aftermarket kit for the car — giving it the moniker of the ‘Ford Shelby GT500SE.’ Only 100 variants are slated for release, with each model taking on an additional 40+ horsepower (resulting in an output of 800+, overall), a dry carbon fiber hood, performance-tuned suspension, new wheels, and various interior upgrades. To give the GT500SE a more track-oriented presence, the brand has outfitted the car’s 5.2-liter V8 with a new pulley, and cooler, complementing its lower, track-focused suspension system. But if you’re interested in updating your newly-acquired GT500 for some fun at the circuit, it won’t be cheap — the entire package will cost $29,995, and that doesn’t account for the initial cost of the vehicle.
