Since its release in June of 1970, the Range Rover has consistently set the standard in the luxury SUV class, and with 2020 marking the 4×4’s 50th anniversary, Land Rover has opted to commemorate the occasion via the release of a limited edition Range Rover dubbed the “Fifty.”
Riding on one of two unique sets of 22” rims, the Range Rover Fifty features a variety of bespoke exterior accents and “Fifty” badges, while the inside gets a special “1 of 1970” plaque on the center console, and “Fifty” logos on the headrests, tread plates, and dash. Under the limited edition model’s clamshell hood is a supercharged 5.0L V8 that makes 518 hp and 461 ft-lbs of torque (at least for the North American market version). Offered in standard or long-wheelbase-specs, the Fifty is available in four different standard color options, as well as three additional throw-back colors based on the SUV’s earliest liveries, available exclusively through the elite Rover Special Vehicle Operations. Pricing has yet to be revealed, though production will be limited to 1,970 units — a nod to the year of the iconic SUV’s release. Further updates are expected to be released later this year.
