Polaris’ 203HP Street-Legal Go-Karts Get A Suite Of Upgrades For 2020

Every year, Polaris announces a new iteration of the three-wheeled Slingshot platform. While many of the street-legal go-kart’s recent updates have remained relatively tame, the brand’s newly-revealed 2020 models have received a substantial visual upgrade, as well as some interesting options for the enthusiast driver.

Polaris’ 2020 Slingshot lineup is slated to consist of two different models — the entry-level SL, and tightly-tuned R. The SL arrives as an aesthetically-focused platform, boasting additional colorways, an infotainment system, and back-up camera for the common commuter. Inside of the three-wheeler’s adjustable waterproof cockpit, you’ll find a fully-outfitted Rockford Fosgate audio suite, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and Ride Command, while its exterior boasts a handful of refined traits, including premium paint and accents, LED and accent lights, and a 7.5-inch wind deflector. An Autodrive transmission coupled with the brand’s powerful 178-horsepower Polestar engine ensures adequate drivability, no matter the roadway. The performance-oriented R, however, boasts an upgraded 203-horsepower Prostar powerplant, as well as a manual option for true enthusiasts. A sport-inspired interior, external panels, and premium two-tone paint scheme work in tandem with the platform’s two-piece composite rotors to provide a pronounced capability, adrenaline-filled drives, and aesthetic prowess. The 2020 Polaris Slingshot line starts at $26,500.
