Michigan’s Mil-Spec Automotive is widely recognized as being one of the world’s premier Hummer customization outfits, transforming the already-rugged military vehicles into luxurious civilian go-anywhere off-roaders. And this year, Mil-Spec continues this tradition with the 2020 Mil-Spec Automotive H1 Supertruck.
Built around a four-door hardtop Hummer, novel features on the 2020 model include a new 30-gallon extended range aluminum fuel-cell, redesigned driveshafts, a Baja suspension package that affords 13” of travel, and Mil-Spec’s bumper tow package with integrated 2” ball hitch, electrical connections, and backup camera. The H1’s hardened aerospace-grade aluminum bodywork is adorned in an onyx black paint job that boasts a Kevlar-infused PU-exterior coating, plus the undercarriage and engine bay were treated to ceramic coatings and are now shrouded behind a fully-integrated steel skid plate. For the vehicle’s interior, Mil-Spec partnered with Formawerx to create a plush cabin with onyx Nappa leather quilt-stitched seats, a bespoke instrumentation display with black-anodized housings, a premium JL Audio system, and a steering wheel machined from raw billet. Powering the H1 is still a 6.6L Duramax diesel engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that generates 500 hp and 1,000 ft-lbs of torque. Mil-Spec Automotive is currently accepting orders for the 2020 Special Edition H1, with pricing set at $300,000.
