Although still on the fringes of the automotive world, side-by-sides have cemented their place in the hierarchy — especially amongst off-road enthusiasts. But the field just got a little more crowded and a lot more exciting with the announcement of Kawasaki’s first-ever sport side-by-side, the 2020 TERYX KRX 1000.

Made to absolutely shred the backcountry, dunes, and whatever other terrain you can throw at it, this two-seater ATV runs on a powerful 999cc four-stroke parallel-twin engine that can send it rip-roaring over hills and through valleys at mind-numbing speeds and produces 76.7 lb-ft of torque. It also has the highest ground clearance in its class, measuring up at 14.4 inches — which mates beautifully with its double wishbone suspension, chunky all-terrain tires, up to 21″ of wheel travel, and selectable 2WD/4WD. A range-topping stand-out entry in the sport side-by-side arena, this monster can be yours starting at $20,499 — but it can also be heavily upgraded for any adventure for an upcharge.

Purchase: $20,499+
