While many a mountain bike trail is easily accessible with just a quick drive, the best the backcountry has to offer requires a vehicle that’s just as capable as the rig it’s transporting. Thankfully, Mopar has put together a truck that’s up to the task.
Dubbed the “Top Dog,” the latest concept from the Chrysler parts subsidiary is a riff on the 2020 Jeep Gladiator platform. It sports more than 20 Jeep Performance Parts handpicked to optimize it for serious mountain biking applications. At the front, it’s been mounted with a two-inch steel brush guard and a Warn winch. Up top, it gains two rack structures for additional storage and a pair of exterior task lights to keep the road-ahead visible. But it’s the Gladiator’s bed that’s the star of the show. Fitted with a custom PCOR flatbed storage system, it features a passenger-side carrier full of drawers and shelves for holding all of your tools and gear, as well as a driver-side that comes with a refrigerator and a hot dog cooker. Lifted two inches and riding on some 17-inch wheels with 37-inch BF Goodrich mud-terrain tires, the Top Dog is ready to sniff out even the most remote of trails.
