Earlier this year, the folks at Hennessey Performance Engineering announced that they were going to upgrade Jeep’s brand-new Gladiator off-road pickup with some serious power borrowed from the Dodge Hellcat. Now, the wait is over and the Hennessey Maximus is finally real and available for purchase.
Just as the lauded aftermarket performance customizers promised, this insanely-upgraded 4×4 pickup is now home to a monstrous 6.2L supercharged V8 engine that produces a mind-boggling 1,000 horsepower and 933 ft-lb of torque. That means it can go from 0-60 in a blistering 3.9 seconds. They’ve also redone the interior with new embroidered leather upholstery, swapped in heavy-duty off-road axles, equipped it with Dana 60 front and rear differentials, and a slew of other upgrades. However, if you want one, only 24 will ever be made at a price of $225,000 — so you’d better act quickly.
