2020 Ford F-450 Super Duty
With this year boasting some of the toughest, most durable pickup truck offerings known to man, it’s no surprise that the king of heavy duty automotive wouldn’t stand idly by. Ford has finally unveiled its newest line of offerings — a series of three separate vehicles under the moniker of the 2020 F-Series Super Duty — and most notably, the F-450.
The Ford F-450’s front end is the recipient of a newly introduced, high-flow grille to aid with engine cooling. A revised tailgate and taillight segment pair nicely with the F-450’s moderately updated interior — but mechanically, the full-size truck is a whole new beast. Featuring an all-new 7.3-liter gasoline-powered V8 that’s been built to utilize port injection via a pushrod design, the new Super Duty is expected to exceed 420 horsepower, making it the most powerful gasoline engine in its class. A less powerful 6.2-liter V8 and an updated 6.7-liter turbocharged V8 diesel engine are also being offered, which include a variable-geometry turbo that promises faster throttle response, updated injectors, and strengthened interior components. The truck’s newly introduced 10-speed automatic transmission is perfect for buyers who are looking for greater payload and towing capacity. The new Super Duty will feature Ford’s Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which allows users to steer and maneuver through the use of an in-dash knob system. The entire Super Duty line will be on sale this fall, with more information yet to come.
