A whopping 50 years ago, Dodge first introduced their Challenger — an impressive pony car with the widest range available powertrains in the industry. Half a century later, the very same model still leads the pack with available power of up to a whopping 797HP. To celebrate five decades of dominance, Dodge is now unleashing a series of limited-production 50th Anniversary Edition Challengers.
According to the brand, all of the category-topping 2020 Challenger SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye models will be getting special 50th Anniversary badging. But it’s their GT RWD, R/T Shaker, R/T Scat Pack Shaker, and R/T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody brethren that are getting the full special-edition treatment. That includes body-color-matched Shaker hood scoops — available for the first time ever on the R/T Scat Pack Widebody. The lineup will also feature a brand-new high-impact paint (HIP) Gold Rush colorway, premium Nappa leather and Alcantara interiors, and custom badging. Only 70 numbered units of each model in each of the two available colorways will be built — a reference to the car’s 1970 debut — at an MSRP of $4,995 over the purchase price with availability starting in December.
