One of the most tangible pieces of evidence to suggest that electrification is the future of the automotive industry is when legacy brands begin to embrace the technology. And today marks a fairly major milestone in that regard, as Bentley — the world-renowned luxury automaker — has just unveiled that they’re bringing their revolutionary 2020 Bentayga plug-in hybrid SUV to the States.
As we’ve come to expect from the British marque, this opulent SUV is still as luxurious and beautiful as ever — boasting clean lines, spot-on styling, and a marvelously-appointed leather-laden interior. But this new version is also equipped with some modern upgrades, including a highly efficient 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 gas engine mated to an electric motor (which is capable of traveling 24.23 miles on its own) — making this the most efficient Bentley ever. It also has a top speed of 158mph, a 0-60 time of just 5.2 seconds, onboard Intelligent Satellite Navigation, a handy touchscreen control center (with efficiency and range information at the push of a button), and so much more. Pricing starts at $156,900, but you’ll have to reach out to Bentley for availability.
