Sometimes, an overseas automotive release can put a huge damper on the North American automotive industry. Whether it’s a high-end performance model or a luxurious SUV, importing an adored model is, oftentimes, more trouble than it’s worth, causing the U.S. market to wait until manufacturers decide to bring the vehicle stateside. Luckily, Audi’s newest diesel TDI-powered SQ8 and SQ7 have been adapted for use in the North American market for 2020.
The stylish SUVs are scheduled to make their debut in the states by late spring, bringing with them an air of European class, a powerful twin-turbo V8, all-wheel steering, and a capable Tiptronic eight-speed automatic transmission to satiate the masses of enthusiast drivers. At a boisterous 500 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque, both vehicles are able to catapult from 0 to 60 in just under 4.3 seconds, placing them firmly within the performance-oriented realm. While Audi’s updated Alu-optic grill and wheel upgrade are fine additions to the suave lineup, the interior of the vehicles will boast newly-implemented Alu-optic or Black-optic design elements, depending on the model. Look for the sporty pair to hit American dealers in late spring.
