Audi’s AWD A6 Allroad Turns 20 With 2.5 Tons Of Diesel Towing Power

Much to our chagrin, the sport wagon landscape is woefully small. But there are a solid number of mainstays we’re happy to see come back year after year. One such mainstay, the Audi A6 Allroad Quattro is celebrating 20 years of production and 4 generations this year — and it’s better than ever.

The sleek styling of this all-terrain wagon is as on-point as ever — and much of what makes this vehicle excellent remains. That includes the standard symmetrical AWD system Audi is known for, adaptive air suspension, and increased ground clearance to cope with uneven terrain. But what sets this generation apart is that it is offered with a trio of 3.0-liter V6 diesel options with up to 2.5 tons of towing power, 349 horsepower, and over 516 foot-pounds of torque. While any of them would make for a fun drive, the cream-of-the-crop has to be the special 20 Years Allroad edition that comes with specialized styling — with a trio of color options, exclusive wheels, and Alcantara and leather upholstery. It’s unclear if this shooting brake will come to the States, but if it does you can expect to pay around $69,000 starting.
