The original BMW 8 series from the ‘90s never received an M variant, but the German automaker is finally making a gearhead dream come true. After forever and a day, the 2020 BMW M8 is finally here, and it looks ready to take over the roads.

BMW reintroduces the coupe variant and added a convertible model, in addition to a shiny new M8 Competition model. The competition model coupe packs 617 hp with 553 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to punch to 60 mph in only three seconds. If you’re looking at the drop-top, the M8 Competition convertible can make the 60 mph sprint at the same time as the standard M8 Coupe — which is 3.1 seconds. The Competition models have stiffer springs and hardened components underneath to complement the standard 15.5-inch front brakes with six-piston calipers. As far as design goes, the M8 has a large blacked out kidney grille, an aggressive fascia, a slender spoiler, and a few other moderate touches. You can also upgrade your ride with an optional M Carbon Exterior Package. The Competition models start at $146,000, and all M8 variants are scheduled for production in July.

Purchase: $146,000+
