The renowned shoemakers at Vans have been on a roll lately when it comes to collaborative works, and in an effort to deviate from their traditional audience, they’ve paired up with the tactical purveyors at DEFCON, as well as LBT’s MAS Grey. The result? A lineup of Van’s most iconic sneakers, outfitted with new hues and ComfyCush technology.

DEFCON and LBT have established entirely new territory with the updated Vans, utilizing the brand’s iconic Old Skool and Sk8-HI for a tactical collaboration that was created for “on the job” use. LBT’s specially developed Cordura upper gives the shoes a decidedly durable silhouette, while lightweight ComfyCush construction and a foam waffle sole provide all of the aesthetic advantages of Vans’ classic footwear, at a much lower volume. As a prototype Maritime (VBSS/GOPLAT) shoe, they can be paired with a full-fledged fin setup, and include drainage holes on the lower portion of the upper for enhanced water expulsion. The collection is slated to drop on May 1 via DEFCON’s retail website.
