Though it has been in development for a number of years, very little is known about Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima’s first independent game release since his bitter split with Konami. But now we’re finally getting a deeper glimpse into the beautifully dystopian world of the upcoming title with a new gameplay trailer.

Unfortunately, even with nearly 10 minutes of footage, it’s still hard to tell exactly what’s going on with this game. What we do know is that it looks absolutely gorgeous and appears to incorporate elements of both action and horror/survival gameplay. Pair that with an A-list cast of actors — including Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, and (of course) Norman Reedus — as well as an enigmatic note from Kojima himself about how Death Stranding is meant to explore the importance of human connection and this cryptic video game is shaping up to be something truly special. This title is set for a release on November 8th, later this year on PlayStation 4 and, if the rumors are to be believed, PC as well.
