With rapid changes in design and technology, it’s become more commonplace to see interesting applications of conceptual living within architecture. While BIO Architects’ Bridge House is certainly a real dwelling, its environmental foundation is a little more otherworldly than most.

The company’s aptly named housing structure is located in Russia’s snowy Tula Region, boasting a winter-ready design that spans one of the area’s organic waterways. As the second dwelling on an already-established lot, the Bridge House acts as a serene escape from the everyday qualms associated with modern society. A rustic wood constitution and expansive window layout give the home an immersive, country-like character — while inside, a minimalist dining area, kitchen, and lofted sleeping area provide the perfect essentials for cozy wintertime living.
