Woodford’s Latest Bourbon Is A 123.2-Proof American Masterpiece

When it comes to American whiskey, Woodford Reserve makes some of the best. After all, they didn’t become the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby by accident. But if you really want to get a taste of their signature spirit in its purest form, you’ll want to pick up a bottle of their 2019 Woodford Reserve Batch Proof Bourbon.

Made from the same mash bill as their Kentucky Straight Bourbon, this one isn’t toned down in the least — clocking in with a proof of 123.2 (as opposed to the standard 90.4). And while that gives it a bit more of a kick than the normal batches, it’s not at the expense of character and flavor. In fact, you might say it’s the opposite. This rich spirit is said to have even bolder flavors of the sweet vanilla and toasted oak found in their standard bourbon, as well as notes of baking spices followed by a spearmint and cedar wood finish. Official pricing and availability have yet to be released, but you can expect to see this whiskey selling for around $130 a bottle — if you can get your hands on it.
