PBR has been a staple of dive bars, hipster house parties, and backyard barbecues since long before most of us have been drinking. And while the original beer is good enough to have lasted for literal generations of drinking, the brand has finally unveiled a bigger, bolder version they’re calling Pabst Blue Ribbon Extra.

Here’s the kicker: while the new Extra version comes in a sleek black can and has a boosted ABV of 6.5% (up from 4.7%), the folks behind it are claiming that it is still just as crisp, refreshing, and drinkable as their original American lager. That means you can enjoy the same light flavors, but with a little extra kick. To coincide with the new release, PBR has also unveiled that they’re releasing a non-alcoholic version and have plans to shelve their own whiskey come summertime. PBR Extra will be available in 12-ounce cans starting this spring.
