Based on the classic novel by Joseph Heller, Catch-22 looks like it will capture the satirical, clever voice of the book. Set in World War II, the story follows a U.S. Air Force bombardier named Yossarian who is infuriated by the increasing number of missions he has to fly to complete his service.

Produced, directed and starring George Clooney, who plays Scheisskopf, the trailer for the mini-series gives you a taste of its dark, farcical humor. Judging from the trailer, it’s also visually pleasing with talented cinematographer Martin Ruhe, who worked behind the camera with Clooney on The American. There are also plenty of familiar faces appearing in the trailer, including Christopher Abbott as Yossarian, Kyle Chandler as Colonel Cathcart, and Hugh Laurie playing Major de Coverly. The highly-anticipated six-episode series will debut on Hulu on May 17. With Game of Thrones ending on May 19, this show is hitting the small screen at the perfect time.
