New Legend 4×4 has now proven several times over that they know how to properly restore and update classic SUVs. But when it came time to make something really special, they reached out to the folks at Iron & Resin to give them a hand. That legendary mashup resulted in this practically-perfect 1978 Jeep Wagoneer.

In classic New Legend fashion, this 4×4’s spirit is entirely intact. But thanks to Iron & Resin, it’s also been imbued with some southwestern style — in the form of Horween leather, waxed canvas, and Del Sol diamond serape trim — elevating it even further. Of course, all that top-tier styling would mean nothing if the rig couldn’t drive. And thanks to a brand-new LS 5.3 engine good for 416 horsepower, it most certainly can. To match with its beating heart, this Wagoneer also got a four-speed automatic transmission, modern fuel system, upgraded steering box and linkage, a new 3″ lift with a revamped suspension, and plenty more. We’re pretty sure nobody else could have done a better job if they tried.
