The unveiling of Toyota’s legendary resurrected Japanese sports car was conservatively chastised following its release, stating that the new platform fell significantly short of the fabled Supra name. And while the base offering might be a bit underwhelming, aftermarket customizers have had a field day with the vehicle’s potential output. Now, Toyota’s race-oriented tuning partner company, Gazoo, has revealed its plan to bring the Supra back to stardom.

While the Supra GT4 is only a concept in its current iteration, both Toyota and Gazoo have stated that the vehicle is, beyond a questionable doubt, headed toward production. After shaving the weight of the original vehicle by nearly 440 pounds, Gazoo decided to retain the vehicle’s 3.0-liter straight-six, and turbocharger — citing that output and powertrain ratings are still in the conceptualization stage. A full wiring harness swap works alongside customized splitters, a new rear wing setup, and aerodynamic skirts that have been constructed using hemp and flax fibers, as well as polycarbonate windows and a fully realized interior roll cage. Exact pricing has yet to be revealed by Gazoo, but if you’re interested in the premise of a lighter, faster, and all-around better performing vehicle, you can expect to spend over $120,000 for Toyota’s new GT4.
