Roland Gumpert might not be a household name when it comes to innovative automotive tech, but the company is putting its best foot forward for a new electric supercar that’s set to change the game for the EV industry — codename: Nathalie.

The Nathalie trails just behind the German manufacturer’s intimidating Apollo platform, providing the powerful middle ground between performance and style. It houses a two-way energy concept that continuously charges the vehicle as you drive, thanks to a highly customized methanol fuel cell. Essentially, two electrical conductors produce water and C02 within the fuel cell thanks to a chemical reaction between methanol and air, emitting electrons that can be used to revitalize the engine during stops or breaks in use. The product of this breakthrough technology? A self-sustaining, 800-horsepower supercar that boasts a 530-mile range, rockets from 0-60 in under 2.5 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 190 mph. Aesthetically, the Nathalie utilizes a number of aerodynamic upgrades, race-oriented architecture, and a vortex generator that compliments the vehicle’s sleek interior trappings. An intuitive display illustrates the supercar’s fuel cell capacity, performance, and g-force ratings, rounding out the pleasing build with various quality-of-life additions that are vital for the car’s general function.
