Oculus Rift S VR Gaming System

Since the release of Oculus’ first VR system in 2016, the tech company has released other virtual reality headsets, but never a true successor, until now. The Oculus Rift S VR Gaming System is the bonafide sequel to the original and has some exceptional upgrades.

Unlike the first Oculus VR system, this model has sensors embedded into the headset, which is called 6 degrees of freedom head and controller tracking, allowing the device to note when you’re moving forward, backward or turning your head. The individual eye lenses are improved to 1,280 x 1,440 pixels and provide a slightly larger field of view. Oculus has also teamed up with Lenovo to create a more comfortable design with upgraded light blocking and improved weight distribution. And there’s a new feature dubbed Passthrough+ that uses forward-facing cameras for improved integration of the real world environment. The system works with Oculus Touch controllers that come straight out of a sci-fi movie, allowing you to throw, grab, and slash with precision. Expect to see the Oculus Rift S drop this spring for $399.
