Leica continues to innovate the way that mirrorless cameras are perceived by the general consumer, taking it upon themselves to set the bar for other manufacturers in the industry. Now, their newly announced Q2 pushes the mirrorless realm even further, providing a best-in-class photographic experience for those who are willing to take the plunge.
Sporting an incredibly large 47.3-megapixel full-frame sensor, the Q2 promises the highest resolution out of any other camera in its class, and thanks to the Maestro II image processor, an ISO range of 50-50,000, and 10-fps shooting speed, it’s obvious that the German camera manufacturer means business. It comes paired with a Leica Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH lens that brings both top quality bokeh and exceedingly detailed image quality to the platform, alongside a built-in crop function that offers 35mm, 50mm, and 70mm focal lengths at the touch of a button. A 4K UHD and Cine4K video mode ensure adequate video performance, while a newly introduced, weather-sealed body and ergonomic design principle give the Q2 an attractive look. The camera is available for preorder now through select retailers, with models starting at just under $5,000.
