Dogfish Head x Kodak SuperEIGHT Super Gose

It’s no secret that the folks at Dogfish Head like to get experimental with their beers from time to time. But when one such beer gets crafted alongside a huge name like Kodak, our interest is piqued even further. And it’s a good thing we were paying attention because their SuperEIGHT Super Gose is a remarkable brew both inside and out.

Obviously, the name is a reference to Kodak’s fabled Super 8 camera film, but the connection goes far deeper than a simple name. You see, the brainiacs at Dogfish Head figured out that increased levels of acidity — provided by citrus fruit — can act as a processing agent for film stock. So they took a gose beer they were already working on, with heightened levels of vitamin C, and tweaked the recipe for that purpose of developing film. And it worked! Loaded with fruit, quinoa, and Hawaiian sea salt, this sessionable 5.3% ABV brew (yes, it’s safe to drink) will release nationwide in April.
