It’s a well-known fact that the Land Rover Defender was co-opted by the British military, much in the same way Willys Jeeps had been before it. It’s lesser known, however, what happens to those vehicles after their term of service is over. In the case of this 1993 Defender 90 Pickup, it got a new lease on life and is now available for sale.

Originally used by the Ministry of Defense, this beautiful 4×4 SUV was taken to the chopping block by Retro Defenders of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, England. Repainted in Atlantic Green to pay homage to Land Rover’s heritage, they also equipped it with a new soft top, transforming it into a perfect summertime ride for outdoor usage. But that’s not all — they also gave it new LED lighting (inside and out), swapped in a ton of new hardware (everything from the door hinges to a bespoke wooden floor), and fully serviced and inspected it for rust. Drive off in this mint masterpiece now for $45,000.

Purchase: $45,000
