We hate to say it, but BMW and Honda custom motorcycles are played out. It’s not that we don’t love them (we very much do, especially when done right), but they’re far too safe of a choice at this point. Now, we wouldn’t say Yamaha’s Virago cruiser is a rarity, per se, but it’s at least a bit more unusual. And when in the hands of a master like Tom Moose of Moose Motodesign, it can be an altogether unexpected treat — as seen in his twin XV920 ‘Cafe Fighters.’

Built to represent the struggle between good and evil, the two donor bikes hail from 1982 and 1983 — but they’re now a far cry from what they once were. That’s because Tom, alongside fellow V-Twin enthusiast and expert mechanic Adam Wojtkowiak, revamped them from the ground-up. The alterations are extensive but include swapped-in Kawasaki forks, custom disc brakes with Tokico calipers, specially-painted tanks, MV Agusta Sachs rear shocks, and stunning LED-equipped premium leather seats with chrome undersides (to name a small few). We’re not sure which side we’re on — good or evil — but it looks like a hell of a lot of fun either way.
