Ricoh has been marketing itself rather well lately, and with a variety of well-made camera offerings, it’s no surprise that they’ve been making waves within the industry. Now, the manufacturer has unveiled its newest 360-degree camera system, the Theta Z1.

This flagship model boasts the highest visual and image quality of the brand’s entire range, recording 360-degree images through the use of a sharp 23-megapixel, 7K sensor and enhanced stitching capabilities. Thanks to a back-illuminated CMOS image sensor, the camera utilizes superior noise reduction and a newly developed lens unit that reduces flare, ghosting, and chromatic anomalies throughout the image range, while producing an incredibly realistic 4K video. It allows users to save their photos in RAW format, which is a first for the Theta series and features an interesting new four-channel microphone (with four separate recorders) that each document sounds independently of one another. A magnesium alloy chassis and minimal design principal offer a robust feeling that’s similar to high-end camera bodies — providing that professional feel for which consumers yearn.

Purchase: $1,000
