We all know how prestigious an original 1989 Porsche 911 chassis really is, and while most purists would scoff at the thought of a “recreation” being anything other than an affront to the manufacturer, one design group has managed to quell our fears.

Oxfordshire’s Theon Design group has taken it upon themselves to restore and reintroduce one of the German automaker’s most iconic platforms, the Porsche 964-generation 911. These road-legal vehicles begin their lives as a 1989-94 donor vehicle, and after being relinquished to Theon for a thorough inspection, the sporty coupes are seam welded for increased torsional rigidity, Enviro-dipped to remove all paint and contaminants, and then primed for the perfect protective layer against rust and external inhibitors. The front and rear arches, bumpers, bonnet, and spoiler are replaced with pre-preg carbon fiber components, while Porsche wiring looms, Bi-Xenon headlights, and a fully adjustable Ohlins suspension can be added post-rebuild. The four engine options range from a standard rebuilt 3.6L with 285bhp all the way to a 4.0L offering 400bhp. On the exterior, 12 distinct paint colors based on classic Porsche variants from the 1960s and ’70s are available, alongside a handsome semi-aniline automotive leather interior that can be customized at will.
