Tattoo Projects may pride themselves on leadership within the advertisement and marketing realm, but it’s no secret that the creative company has many different expressive outlets. In fact, the company’s in-house motorcycle design studio has created some of the most alluring customized builds we’ve ever seen — and their most recent BMW R80RT is certainly cut from the same glorious cloth.
“Blue Velvet” is a fantastically built 1985 BMW R80RT — boasting a sleek, minimalized silhouette and burly knob-ridden tires that give the bike a look all its own. A handsomely fabricated Honda CB360 tank adorns the frame of the moto, retaining all of its original factory badging and decal work. Alongside the bike’s detabbed and chopped frame, Tattoo Moto implemented an entirely new lighting setup, including a rear built-in LED tail light, a 5.75-inch King Bee chopper headlight, and a black leather scrambler seat to round things out. The rear end of the bike sports a well-designed Ohlins monoshock that improves handling and adjustability, providing every rider with the right amount of adaptable travel and dampening capabilities. A retro “Blue Velvet” colorway gives the bike a classic look, defining the meticulously built moto in both spirit and name.
