Nike’s Air Force 1 model is a bonafide classic design that has gone through several stylish remixes since they hit the scene in 1982. This time around, the world-renowned American shoe giant is taking inspiration from racing with their latest Nike Air Force 1 All-Star Weekend kicks.
The shoes are set to be released for this year’s NBA All-Star weekend, taking place in Charlotte, North Carolina, which is where Michael Jordan gave us a taste of his greatness during his college years. Although they were made for a basketball event, the shoes took inspiration from the Charlotte Motor Speedway’s colorways and their logo. The sneakers feature decals around the heels and midsoles, as well as speed racing stripes on the heel, AF1 patches, and a subtle “ASW-2019” logo. Nike hasn’t informed us of an official release date, but you can be certain they’ll drop sometime during NBA All-Star weekend next month.
