Back at the tail-end of 2018, Porsche unveiled a brilliant concept car that harkened back to the golden era of rally racing. And, as beautiful as that concept was, we were certain it was going to stay a concept and never see the light of day. Thankfully, that’s not the case, as they’ve just announced the 2020 Porsche Cayman GT4 Rallye is headed into production.

There are a few differences between the concept and the actual production vehicle. For starters, the production ride is based on the newly unveiled 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. That also means the 3.8-liter flat-six engine under the hood will produce 425 horsepower, as opposed to 385. It also means, like the 718, some sustainable materials will be used, including several body parts made of natural-fiber composite material (a first for Porsche). Built to compete in the FIA’s R-GT class, you can look forward to seeing this magnificent rally car hit the track soon.
