Pickup trucks have seen somewhat of a renaissance lately, with a spectrum of new editions coming with novelties like electric powertrains, beefed-up off-road suspension, and more. To some of us, however, they will always be, first and foremost, tow-ready workhorses. Dodge seems to agree with that fact, as evidenced by their new 2019 Ram Heavy Duty pickup trucks.
The line of vehicles, which includes the 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty pickups, is now offered with a monstrous 6.7-liter Cummins High Output Turbo Diesel engine capable of a whopping 1,000 foot-pounds of torque. That’s up by 70 from last year’s top option, giving it a class-topping 35,100 pounds of towing and a 7,680-pound payload. On top of that gargantuan power plant, they also boast adjustable rear air suspension, a suite of noise cancelling features in the cabin, 360-degree cameras for easier maneuvering, and a grand total of 100 built-in safety and security features. Pricing and availability will be unveiled at a later date.
