Michael “Woolie” Woolaway is by far one of the most respected names in the custom motorcycle scene, with a celebrity list of clients that includes the likes of Ryan Reynolds, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Dani Pedrosa, and Orlando Bloom — just to name a few. The US Motorcycle Director for Deus Ex Machina, Woolie’s latest creation was built for the Deus Swank Rally and is constructed around a 2019 Yamaha YZ450F — the Tuning Fork Company’s four-stroke cross-country model.
Dubbed “BLUE RUVIDO,” Woolie’s aim for the build was to deck the Japanese thumper out in a vintage dirt bike aesthetic while retaining the dirt bike’s cutting-edge off-road performance capabilities. Cosmetic highlights from the transformation include a one-off subframe and desert sled-style seat, a retro-YZF-inspired (faux) tank, side cover and number plate combo pieces, and old-school arching alloy fenders front and aft held via one-off brackets. Bolstering the 450’s dirt-going prowess is a trick Rekluse slipper clutch, a Scotts steering stabilizer, custom exhaust with carbon fiber end-cap and Deus badge, billet Hammerhead foot controls, a pair of blue-anodized spoked Excel rims, and a set of custom-tuned suspension that’s been lowered by three-inches, courtesy of RaceTech. Completed by Woolaway in just a matter of days, the BLUE RUVIDO is currently for sale. Interested parties can check out the Deus website.
