Volvo, the iconic Swedish car company, has made a commitment to the U.S. by opening up a factory in Charleston, South Carolina and launching the brand new S60 luxury sedan, which will be their first ever American-made vehicle.
Adding another first to Volvo’s history, this car will mark the first time that one of their vehicles will not be offered in diesel, as the company is looking to move beyond the traditional combustion engine. The T8 Twin Engine Plug-In Hybrid will be available in the new S60, delivering a solid 400 horsepower with the help of the rear electric motor. It will also have Volvo’s ‘Scalable Product Architecture’ platform, safety technology and infotainment system, much like Volvo’s 2019 V60, making this car one of the safest out there to drive. In addition, it has an optional Four-C active chassis, which is an electronically controlled system that analyzes the current road conditions, as well as your driving style, so that the driving experience is personalized. Topping things off, the S60 has an optional Pilot Assist system that aides the driver with steering, acceleration and braking on roads up to 80mph, further creating an enjoyable ride. Starting June 28, a limited number of the T8 Polestar Engineered version of the S60 will be available via the Care by Volvo app.
