2019 Subaru WRX STI S209
In the United States, Subaru is probably best known for their family-friendly off-roaders — like the Outback sport wagon — elsewhere, and amongst car fanatics, they’re loved for their speedy and small rally cars. Now, the brand is trying to remind those of us in the states that their racing heritage is alive and well with the announcement of their 2019 Subaru WRX STI S209.
Unfortunately, the new S209 is going to be extremely limited. In fact, only 200 examples are slated to be built, which should serve to drive demand through the roof when you consider what this little street rocket has to offer by way of performance. You see, under the hood sits a 2.5-liter boxer engine capable of 341 horsepower — more than enough to send this lightweight racer drifting around the corners. But that power isn’t all that’s special, as this bad boy also gets exclusive forged BBS wheels with bespoke Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT600A tires, Brembo brakes with new high-friction pads, and more aggressive styling. Pricing has yet to be announced.
