This Militarized, Armored Ford Ranger Takes Off-Roading To A New Level

The market for militarized vehicles is booming, and while the average consumer might not be inclined to take an armored-example of their favorite pickup out on the trail, there’s a certain allure when it comes to procuring a bulletproof daily driver. Sure, that’s a little farfetched, but according to Ricardo’s newly-announced Ford Ranger, it’s just another day in the life.

The company’s 2019 Ford Ranger was coopted by Polaris Government and Defense, and arrives with a full suite of utilitarian upgrades, giving it an aggressive demeanor that’s sure to strike a chord with those in the military, rescue, or security industries. It’s powered by a high-end two-liter EcoBlue bi-turbo diesel engine, giving it a capable 369 lb-ft of torque to tow its ring-mounted weapon system, rock sliders, and armored undercarriage protection. But don’t worry, the Ranger’s windows are also reinforced, working alongside bespoke enhancements like EMC protection, C4i integration, and a collection of four-point seat harnesses to keep the truck’s tactical aesthetic intact. While Ricardo’s militarized vehicle doesn’t have a predetermined price quite yet, you’ll be able to customize its suspension system, wheels, tires, and payload after you inquire on the company’s website.
