You’ll know the one-upping with the neighbor has gotten a little out of hand when he rolls home in the recently released 2019 G wagon, as there is really no room left to out-stage a move like that. Or at least there wasn’t until now. Mercedes-AMG has got your back for this contest as they have just released their newest model, the 2019 G63 Edition 1, putting the base model on the shelf and raising the bar for luxury four wheeling.

Being built in a limited run, the G63 Edition 1 will share a lot of the same features as the lesser AMG spec’d model, but with a plethora of superficial styling add-ons that give a whole new attitude to the military inspired SUV. Wrapped in a stealthy black finish, red accents highlight the edge of the wheel rims and center caps, while red striping on the mirrors really ties the exterior look together. Inside the cabin of the special edition wagon, black and red leather trim the plush interior, matching the black and red carbon fiber used to cover the center console, door panels, and dash grab handle. Underneath this fresh new styling for the body on the Edition 1 lies the same performance stats packaged into the standard G63 – a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 577 HP and 627 lb-ft of torque – pushing the luxury truck from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds.
