2019 Lincoln Continental Coach Door Edition
The classy 1961 Lincoln Continental was a genuine landmark car with its elegant suicide doors in an era that saw numerous styling variations. Celebrating eight decades since the first Lincoln bathed in the spotlight, the 2019 Lincoln Continental Coach Edition is paying homage to its ’60s counterpart with the reintroduction of suicide doors.
The special edition vehicle starts off as a Black Label model and gets shipped to Cabot Coach Builders where it’s given a six-inch stretch and modified doors for a presidential feel. The reverse-opening rear doors are larger this time around, but they’re operated with the same button on the inside of the handle as the Continentals of yesteryear and have a soft close feature. Taking a look inside, the center seat has been replaced with a large console to control ventilation and select music. And, you have the option of equipping the luxury car with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 capable of 400 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. There will only be 80 Coach Door Continentals produced for the 2019 model — the chauffeur will not be included.
