Lamborghini broke the mold with the recent introduction of their Huracan EVO Spyder, a convertible variant of their original flagship vehicle that would play on the most advantageous aspects of its forerunner, without any of the “disadvantageous” downfalls of hardtop removal. Now, their Aventador SVJ Roadster is following suit — disowning the static cockpit of the original for a far more immersive experience.
The Aventador SVJ Roadster is, invariably, the same exact vehicle as its predecessor — a naturally-aspirated V12 monster that retains its 770-horsepower output, boosting the supercar from 0-60 in just under 2.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 217 miles per hour. Instead of the original’s confined interior cockpit, drivers will be able to remove the newly adopted two-piece carbon fiber roof and store it in the Aventador’s front compartment — allowing Lamborghini’s improved aerodynamic package to shine. Everything from the active suspension system to rear-wheel steering is sure to return for the updated Aventador — and with sales starting in summer of 2019, it promises to become one of the Italian automotive manufacturer’s most popular platforms to date.
