The Mustang Shelby has been one of the most celebrated muscle cars of the last 50 years. In 2019, Shelby is adding to its legendary lineage with a revamped Shelby GT350, which has been performance enhanced by engineers working with road course racing mustangs, and supplemented with tech from the upcoming Mustang Shelby GT500.

Ford made good use of its Mustang road course racing program to enhance the Shelby GT350 with boosted speed and handling. Ford has declared the GT350 their ultimate track mustang, and a car worthy of the Shelby name. Engineers at Ford used the latest tire and chassis technology on this mighty Mustang. They added a rear spoiler with optional Gurney flap, and an optimized grille closeout for enhanced aerodynamics. Custom Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 provide the rubber to be burnt. Under the hood, the GT350 harbors a 5.2-liter V8 engine, the most powerful naturally-aspirated production engine that Ford has ever manufactured. That bad boy churns out 526 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2019 Mustang Shelby GT350 would have certainly received Carroll Shelby’ stamp of approval, and, as global director for Ford Performance said, put a smile on the face of the legendary car maker.
